FERRIDAY — Services for Melton Woods, 68, of Pontiac, Mich., formerly of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at Luckett Family Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Woods was born Oct. 30, 1947, in Ferriday, the son of Paul S. Woods and Helen Matthews.

He was retired from General Motors.

Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Melton “Pedro” Bell and wife, Shawte, and Roland Whitehead and wife, Kawnisha, all of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Jacquelin Laffitte of Atlanta; two brothers, James Woods of San Diego, Calif., and Paul Woods of Pontiac; nine grandchildren; and a number of cousins in the Ferriday and Monterey areas.
