NATCHEZ — Services for Edward “Uncle Chunk” Foster, 82, of Houston, who died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, in Houston, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Daughter of Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanford Cruel officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Foster was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Natchez, the son of Oliver Griffin and Carolina Minor.
He attended Clover Hill School in Natchez. He was also employed by North Forest School in Houston.
He was retired.
He enjoyed loving his family and spending time in the country in Houston. He was Baptist.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Pollard and one brother, Freddie “Pull” Johnson.
Survivors include one daughter, Gwenalyn F. Boone; one son, Terreace L. Foster; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Harry Pollard.
Pallbearers will be Marion Pollard, Jessie Pollard Sr., Michael Pollard, Anthony Green, Charles Gooden, Sylvester Wilson Jr. and Gregory Clark.
