FERRIDAY — Services for Lucy Carter Smith, 95, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at Camelot Leisure Living Home in Ferriday, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church in Ferriday with her grandson, the Rev. Michael Smith of Houston officiating.

Burial will follow at St. James Church Cemetery in Frogmore beside her husband under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.

Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Frogmore, the daughter of Robert and Maggie Jefferson Carter.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Smith was a member of St. James Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the Rev. Leon Smith Sr. and her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Leon Smith Jr. and wife, Winnie, and Clifton Smith and wife, Gladys, all of Ferriday; three daughters, Jacqueline Smith-Murray and husband, Freddrick Murray Sr. of Natchez, Sadie Cooke of Ferriday and Barbara Bibby and husband, Thomas, of Roanoke, Va.; a special cousin, Janie Slack and husband, Harvey, of Monroe, La.; special niece, Belinda Benjamin and husband, Johnnie, of Pattison; 17 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
