FERRIDAY — Services for Sherman Glynn Pennington, 55, of Monterey, who died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. John Rushing officiating.

Burial will follow at Lismore Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Pennington was born Sept. 8, 1960, in Vicksburg, the son of Luther Glynn Pennington and Katherine Mills.

Sherman was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Trissie Pennington; one son, David “Bud” Glynn Pennington and wife, Linda, of Monterey; two daughters, Laura Tisdale and husband, Garrett, and Lella “Katie” Tillman and husband, Dustin, all of Monterey; his mother and her husband, Charles, of Jena, La.; one brother, Steve Pennington and wife, Lisa, of Olla, La.; one grandson, Bryan Tillman; five granddaughters, Sydney Tisdale, Chloe Pennington, Sophie Tisdale, Caroline Pennington and Kagan Tillman; best friend, Tommy Millican of Monterey; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Cole, Jeffery Spann, Daniel Ellard, Allen Whitehead, Jack Little and Joseph Franklin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Millica, Jeff Dimauro, Keopp Lanehart and Robert Richardson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
