NATCHEZ — Services for Daisy Singleton Green, 91, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 7, 2016, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.L. Hammitte Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at LaGrange Cemetery under the direction of Webb/Winfield Funeral Home.

Visitation will be during business hours today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green was born June 1, 1924, in Natchez, the daughter of William Singleton Jr. and Mary Jane Richardson Singleton.

She was a 1942 graduate of Brumfield High School and a 1958 graduate of Alcorn A&M College with a degree in elementary education.

She was employed by Adams County School District for 42 years. She was retired.

Mrs. Green was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served as church secretary, senior choir treasurer and missionary society treasurer.

She loved her church, her family and all of her students.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Edward Ware; three sisters, Pearlina McCollum, Eloise Quarles and Hattie Singleton; and eight brothers, Jesse Johnson, William Singleton III, James Singleton, Leroy Singleton, Allen Singleton, Thomas Singleton, Vernell Singleton and Joe Singleton.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Ware Maynard and husband, Reo, of Natchez and Avonne Ware Walker and husband, Larry, of Missouri City, Texas; two sons, Carl Alton Ware of Natchez and Kenneth Ray Green of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
