NATCHEZ — Services for Ann Guidroz Marion, 79, who died Friday, March 11, 2016, in Natchez, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from from noon until the service time at the church.
Mrs. Marion was born April 30, 1936, in Mobile, Alabama, the only daughter of E.C. and Marie Guidroz. She attended Natchez High School and graduated from Millsaps College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and received her Master of Science and Specialist Degree in School Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi.
She was employed by the Natchez Adams County School System for 30 years; first as an elementary school teacher, then as one of the first female school psychologist in the state of Mississippi.
Mrs. Marion was a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and was an active member of the Jefferson Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge with friends, and was an avid supporter of the local Adams County Humane Society as well as many other charitable organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Marion, and both of her parents.
Survivors include her two daughters, Janet “Jan” M. Kirkwood and husband, Jeff, and Kathryn “Kem” M. Kimbrell and husband, Jamie, all of Natchez: and five grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Kalin, and Maddie Kirkwood and David Jeanson.
Pallbearers will include: Jeff Kirkwood, Jamie Kimbrell, Austin Kirkwood, Jordan Kirkwood, David Jeanson and Barrett Hamil.
