MONTEREY — A Monterey man was arrested Tuesday on the charge he used his vehicle to damage the grounds of a local school.
The arrest followed a report Tuesday in which Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Monterey High School, where overnight a vehicle had driven through the school courtyard, leaving what officials characterized as major damage to the courtyard and school grounds.
After reviewing security footage, deputies were able to identify the vehicle used in the vandalism and Tuesday afternoon arrested Josh Drummer, 25, of 5564 Louisiana 129 in Monterey, deputies reported.
Drummer will be charged with felony criminal damage to property.
“We are pleased to have solved this crime so quickly,” CPSO Chief Deputy David Hedrick said. “I am proud of Sgt. Stephen Karabellen and Sgt. Lee Ford and the school officials who worked together to identify the vehicle and the individual involved in this crime. The CPSO will continue to make every effort to keep our schools safe and protect our children.”
