NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the hanging death of an inmate in the Adams County jail Thursday.

The death appears to be self-inflicted, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.

Patten said the sheriff’s office is contacting the inmate’s family and will release more information Friday.
