NATCHEZ — Adams County Christian School socked five extra-base hits in clubbing its way to a 14-1 win over Wilkinson County Christian Academy Tuesday night.
Devin Gray and Brady Bean each recorded a double while Bean added a triple.
“We came out and swung it well,” ACCS coach Matthew Freeman said. “We didn’t swing it so well in the first inning — we had a lot of fly outs — but the second go around, we got hot and started seeing the ball well.”
The Rebels (6-7) were led by Chris White, who smacked two home runs, including a grand slam, en route to driving in six runs.
“That’s the first time he’s hit two home runs in a game, and they were both no-doubters,” Freeman said. “It was a hitter’s dream day. When he gets ahold of it, you can tell off the bat that it’s gone.”
Not to be outdone, pitcher Jace Calcote earned the win for ACCS, tossing three shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four batters.
ACCS will attempt to keep the momentum going Thursday when it travels to Cathedral High School.
