NATCHEZ — Services for Martha Mae Credit, 80, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth E. Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m.
Visitation will continue Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Credit was born March 29, 1936, in Adams County, the daughter of Will Matthews and Ivy A. Alexander.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Credit was a member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served as president of the Missionary Society, Sunday school teacher and worked with vacation Bible school. She enjoyed reading, sports, watching westerns and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wyatt Henry Credit; one son, Thomas Credit; and two brothers.
Survivors include four sons, Will Henry Credit and wife, Joy, James H. Credit and wife, Thelma, Charles S. Credit and William L. Credit and wife, Tammra; five daughters, Shelia D. Freeman, Irish L. Williams and husband, Lonnell, Marsha Q. Young and husband, Eddie, Sonette C. Tensley and Pearl L. Wicks and husband, Darryl; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Cain and husband, Henry; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives and friends.
