FERRIDAY — Services for Bobby F. Calhoun, 74, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, April 3, 2016, in Vidalia, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pentecostals of the Miss Lou with the Rev. Gay Howington and the Rev. Jeremy Howington officiating.

Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery in Wisner, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Ferriday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Calhoun was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Sibley, La., the son of Fred Calhoun and Ruth Calhoun.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Johnnie Calhoun; one sister, Johnette Cresap; and two brothers-in-law, Ted Owens and Bobby Cresap.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Velma Rials Calhoun; one son, Ronnie Calhoun of Vidalia; one daughter, Rena Calhoun of Vidalia; two brothers, Van Calhoun and wife, Denise, of Taylor, Ark., and Danny Pesnell and wife, Patty, of Haynesville, La.; one sister, Fredna Owens of Sarepta, La.; one niece, Sue Freeman of Ferriday; two grandsons, Jay Calhoun and Casey Calhoun; and one granddaughter, Harley Rawles.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Owens, Donny Owens, Dan Pesnell, Robert Cresap, Jimmy Harper and Danny Porter.
