NATCHEZ — Services for Lauren Sydney Franklin, 26, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nance Hixon and the Rev. Craig James officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the church.

Lauren was born Nov. 20, 1989, in Natchez, the daughter of Glen Franklin and Donna P. Herndon.

She grew up in Vidalia and was a graduate of Vidalia High School. She attended Mississippi State University and was a graduate of Alcorn State University School of Nursing with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Lauren was an amazing woman who was full of life and had a heart of gold. She knew how to work hard for what she wanted and still have fun with the people she loved. She loved spending time with her family, friends and animals. Her two favorites in life were her nephew, Karter Blake, and dog, Molly.

Lauren was preceded in death by her parental great-grandfather, Jim Richmond.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Tim Herndon; her father and stepmother, Amy Franklin; maternal grandparents, Larry and Kay Patt; paternal grandparents, James and Janice Freeland, Sammy and Bonita Franklin and Lavon and Vera Smith; two sisters, Paige and Claudia Franklin; nephews and niece, Karter Blake, Camryn and Braxton Ratcliff; her faithful friends, Jessica Boone and Molly Bear; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McBride, Patrick McDonough, Colt Colten, Joshua Boone, Ryan Franklin, Tanner Franklin and Samuel Keene.

The family thanks everyone for their condolences in their time of grief.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society, which was close to Lauren’s heart.
