Donny and Chona Whatley of Jonesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Whatley to Jeffrey Smith, son of Earl and Cynthia Smith of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and is employed by Elliott and Company in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Johnny and Martha Whatley of Winnie, Texas, Joe and Laura Sontoyo of Ferriday and Terry and Louise Martin of Farmerville, La.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Riverside Baptist School in Natchez and is employed Merit Health Natchez.

He is the grandson of Mildred Knight and Andrew Williams and George and Francis Smith, all of Natchez.

The wedding will be 6 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, at The Vue in Natchez. A reception will follow at The Gables in Vidalia.
