LONG BEACH — Natchez High School won South State in girls and boys track and field at Long Beach High School Monday.

The Natchez girls won with a score of 129, with the runner up Long Beach coming in with a score of 104. Natchez boys scored 128, and runner up Brookhaven posted a score of 105. Coach Larry Wesley said approximately 21 athletes qualified for the state meet.

“We’re the best team in the South,” Wesley said. “The North looks good also. It’s going to be a pretty good track meet.”
