HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Memorial services for James Joshua Morris, 66, of Huntsville, Ala., who died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at his residence, will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville.
Burial will follow under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time Saturday at Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Morris was born Jan. 16, 1950, in Natchez, the son of Abraham and Doretha Morris.
He attended school in Natchez and attended Fairley Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J., and Los Angeles City College.
He was also a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Mr. Morris enjoyed studying the Bible and attending Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and making others laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard Morris and Henry A. Morris; and an infant sister, Doretha Morris.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Morris; four sons, Timothy Morris and wife, Paula, Terrance Morris and wife, Christina, Marcus Morris and wife, Terri, and David Morris; two daughters, Tina Shannon and Michelle Morris; one brother, Abraham Morris; three sisters, Letitia Dixon, Retha Taylor and Esther Perry; and 14 beloved grandchildren.
