Mayor candidates raise thousands

NATCHEZ — Two Natchez mayoral candidates have raised more than $78,000.
Darryl Grennell leads the fundraising with $45,413 in contributions.
Eleven donors contributed more than $1,000 to Grennell’s campaign, including $1,000 donations from Glenn Green, Vidal Davis, Marion Smith, Robert Johnson and Robert Johnson III.
Grennell has spent $38,220, including $10,550 to Chism Strategies, a Jackson political consulting firm that offers various services including telephone surveys and automated phone messaging.

Tony Fields has raised $33,450, including two $10,000 donations from David Paradise and Magnolia Bluffs Casino. The donations are the largest single donations given to a candidate in the last two city elections.
Fields has spent $26,899, including $5,500 to Willie Carter for unspecified reasons, and $5,643 to Ray Brown for unspecified reasons.
The 13 candidates for aldermen who turned in campaign finance reports have raised a combined $24,343 and spent $22,891.
Municipal judge candidate Lisa Jordan Dale raised $12,683 and spent $11,944.
Aldermen candidate Felicia Irving and municipal judge candidate Carmen Brooks did not submit campaign finance reports.
