NATCHEZ — Services for Doy Conway Hinson, 88, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 9, 2016, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. today at Community Chapel Church of God in Natchez with the Rev. Bo Swilley officiating. 05:12 DoyCHinson obitpic

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Hinson was born April 4, 1928, in Magnolia, the son of John Henry and Lucy Williams Hinson.

Mr. Hinson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was retired from International Paper Company after 39 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters, Leslie, Buelah, Henrietta, William, Quincy, Eldridge, Lucille, Edwin, Ira Mae, Ralph and Clifton.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Mildred Mathis Hinson; one daughter, Carol Dillon and husband, Keith; one son, Doyle Hinson and wife, Melissa; four grandchildren, Travis Logan, Kaitlan Dillon, Maddison Claire Hinson and William Hinson; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Larry Tinsley, Bobby Craighead, Eldridge Hinson, Bubba Hinson, Ricky Hinson and Frankie Wiggins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darry Tinsley, Travis Logan, William Hinson, James Allen Hinson, Bobby Tinsley and Robert MaGee.
