Vernon Henry Chadwick

JACKSON — A requiem eucharist for Vernon Henry Chadwick, 75, who died Friday, May 13, 2016, at Hospice Ministries following a struggle with cancer will be 4 Wednesday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral in Jackson.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. until time of services in the Parish Hall.

Mr. Chadwick was born on May 4, 1941, in Woodville, the son of the Carl Almond Chadwick and Elvena Price Chadwick. He graduated from Natchez High School in 1959 and graduated from Mississippi College and the Jackson School of Law.

After practicing law in Natchez for five years, he moved to Jackson in 1971 and practiced until Dec. 18, 2015, a total of 49 years.  He was also an author.

Mr. Chadwick was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Hudson Chadwick.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Bailey Chadwick; one son, Price Conerly Chadwick and wife, Lydia; one daughter, Swayze Chadwick McNiff and husband, Ian; and five grandchildren, Blair and Kael Chadwick and Connor, Maureen, and Lillian McNiff;  three nieces, Routh H. Chadwick, Nixie Bailey Zavala(Mario) and Ashley Bailey Washam and husband, Gary; one nephew, Alston Sims Chadwick and wife, Kristy; one brother-in-law, Charles R. Bailey, and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Sims Chadwick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, 370 Old Agency Road, Ridgeland, MS 39157.

The family would like to thank Dr. Guangzhi Qu, Hospice Ministries especially Marie Fenton and sitters Lowvonee Ross, Gloria Sanders, and Janet Rias for their care during this time.
