NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Dorothy “Dot” Clark, 87, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Vidalia, will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Abundant Life Church with the Rev. John Collard and the Rev. Mark Henderson officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Clark was born March 22, 1929, in Wayside, the daughter of Fred Harris Sr. and Audrey Sweet Harris.
“Ms. Dot” was well known for her contribution to tourism and the restaurant industry throughout Mississippi and beyond. She loved people and enjoyed her years of service to the customers of The Carriage House and The Castle restaurants.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert Harris and Fred Harris Jr.
Survivors include her four daughters: Patsy Diane Melching and husband, Bill, of Crosby, Texas, Gloria Whiteman and husband, Bill, of Spring, Texas, Barbara Parnell and husband, Jerry, of Vidalia, and Amber Henderson and husband, Mark, of Natchez; one sister, Shirley Dawson of Benton, Ark.; one brother, Jerry Harris of Watson, La.; 11 grandchildren, Billy Melching, Angie Horan, Tommy Parnell, Butch Parnell, Kim Stafford, Bradley Parnell, Ben Davis, Matthew Henderson, John Mark Henderson, Adam Constable and Allison Moss; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Stewpot or Celebrate Recover-Vidalia First Baptist Church.
