NATCHEZ — Services for Thomas Hall, 90 of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 23, 2016, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church in Natchez.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Thomas was born June 11, 1925, in West Frankfort, Ill., the son of Grover C. Hall and Mary Carter Hall.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II aboard the USS Gulfport. After the war, he attended Iowa Wesleyan College where he met Winifred Oliver, the red-headed farm girl who became the love of his life. They were married May 30, 1948. He later earned a master of administration degree from Illinois State University.

Tom spent his career in education as a teacher and elementary school principal in Iowa and Illinois. He was active in the Methodist Church and was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Hall and Thomas’ identical twin, Tim Hall; two sisters, Ora Alice and Cleo; and his niece, Kay.

Survivors include his wife, Winifred; three children, David and his wife Dodie, Diana and Douglas; four grandchildren, Sarah McGooden and husband, Nate, Rebekah Parrish and husband, David, Leah Powers and her husband, Matthew, and Adam Hall and his wife, Annie; nine great-grandchildren, Max McGooden, Grant McGooden, Jack McGooden, Kate McGooden, Ava Parrish, Sutton Parrish, Halle Powers, Arley Powers and Gates Powers; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Jefferson Street UMC, 511 Jefferson Street, Natchez, MS 39120, or to Camellia Ministries, Box 1267 Hattiesburg, MS 39403.
