CENTREVILLE — Two Centreville men died early Tuesday morning after the vehicles they were driving collided.

A Louisiana State Police Troop A Spokesman said Julius Packnett, 35, and Adam McKey, 39, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened on Louisiana 19 south of Louisiana 422 in East Feliciana Parish shortly after midnight.

Packnett, who was driving a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, was traveling southbound on Louisiana 19, while McKey was traveling northbound on the same highway in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, the spokesman said.

Packnett’s car reportedly crossed the centerline into the northbound land and collided head-on with McKey’s truck.

McKey was thrown from the vehicle as it rotated to the left and overturned, the spokesman said.

Packnett was also unrestrained and sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

The matter remains under investigation and routine toxicology tests will follow.
