Have a slice of pie for the animals

Pies! Pies! Pies! What a great way to celebrate the arrival of summer by tasting your favorite pie! A pie party Fundraiser for the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at beautiful Lansdowne located at 17 Marshall Road in Natchez. Our humane society supporters would like to especially thank Marsha Colson and the Marshall family for hosting this fun party! A $25 donation per person can be paid at the door, and all money collected will benefit the homeless pets housed at the shelter located at 475 Liberty Road.

Many volunteers have helped prepare food for the event. Nancy Tennison will be preparing her famous crawfish pie. Rhonda Tarver will be tempting us with her turkey pot pie. Can’t eat pie? No problem. Rhonda will be preparing pasta and hors d’oeuvres. Sissy Eidt has graciously donated quiche Lorraine. Many thanks to Mamie’s Cupboard and Nikki’s in Vidalia for donating pies. Deanne Tanksley, Kathy Hammack, Debra Mobley, Lillie de Shields, Pat Porter, Sue Goss and Darla Vincent will be preparing lemon, peanut butter, butterfinger, pecan, key lime, coconut, chocolate and buttermilk pies. A cash bar will be available.

Norma Williams has coordinated a fine auction. Cole Brown of Natchez Monuments has donated a marble sitting bench that has a retail value of $995. Virginia Netterville has donated a beautiful piece of jewelry. A Werner 22-foot telescoping multi-purpose ladder has been donated by Chuck Hargis. Several Natchez artisans have donated pottery and art work. Magnolia Bluffs Casino and Hotel has donated a two-night stay and dinner for two at the Cypress Mill Steakhouse. The list goes on and on. We have really been blessed by the generosity of the Natchez community!
