JONESVILLE — A celebration of life for Rhonda Smith Blackwell, 56, of Ponchatoula, La., who died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at her residence surrounded by family and friends, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Jonesville. 

Mrs. Blackwell was born Jan. 13, 1960, in Centreville, the daughter of Marion and Shirley Smith.

She was a wife and mother who loved life and was a treasure to family and friends.

Mrs. Blackwell preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Arthur H. “Bubba” Blackwell Jr.; her father; and one sister, Gloria Otwell.

Survivors include two daughters, Whitney Council and husband, Van, and Sydney Shea Blackwell; her mother; one sister, Carolyn Beatty and husband, Gerry; one brother, Michael Smith and wife, Becky; one sister-in-law, Recie Smith and husband, Glenn; one brother-in-law, Jeff Otwell; godmother, Carol Prudhomme; special friend, Albert Bensabat; best friend, Leslie du Plooy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
