NATCHEZ — Services for Walter “Buddy” Hayes, 73, who died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be noon Saturday at Forest Aid Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Mae Hayes; one daughter, Ann Margaret Hayes of Atlanta; four sons, Carrol Hayes and wife, Sherry, of Kansas City, Mo., Walter Hayes and wife, Jenny, of Houston, Christopher Hayes and wife, Detrice, and Rodney Hayes and wife, Shemeka, all of Natchez; one sister, Clarena Hayes Jones of Natchez; one brother, the Rev. James Hayes and wife, Ilora, of Houston; three brothers-in-laws, Henry Johnson of Houston, James Jones Jr. and wife, Rose, and Johnnie Lee Fitzgerald and wife, Leola, all of Natchez; three sisters-in-law, Marguerite Jones Hunt, Audrey Jones Queen and Linda Sue Jones Jackson, all of Natchez; two beloved nieces, Melinda Jones of Natchez and Melissa Bates and husband, Henry, of Dallas; one nephew, James Hayes and wife, Kim, of Houston; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
