NATCHEZ — Services for Forest Edward Harris, 65, of Natchez, who died Thursday, June 2, 2016, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie R. Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue following the wake service.
Mr. Harris was born Oct. 27, 1950, in Natchez, the son of Charles Johnson and Laura L. Jackson.
He was a 1969 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and was retired from Johns-Mansville Company.
Mr. Harris was Methodist.
He enjoyed watching westerns, spending time with family and playing pool.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father; one son, Cartrell Watson; one grandson, Anthony Nelson Harris; two brothers, Vernon Harris and Floyd Johnson; and one sister, Carleen Lloyd.
Survivors include his mother; two daughters, Monica Bates and husband, Bryant, and Lawanda Harris; five brothers, Jerry Harris and wife, Francine, Robert Johnson and wife, Jacqueline, Charles H. Johnson and wife, Ruth, Chance E. Johnson and wife, Sharon, and Kenneth Johnson; seven sisters, Sharon West and husband, James, Linda Kaye Watson, Aundrea Herrington and husband, Clyde, Daisy Elaine Bacon and husband, Charles, JoAnne Mathis and husband, Herschel, Janice M. Johnson and Marilyn Straughter; three grandchildren, Ciera Harris, Breanna Bates and Kalin Johnson; one goddaughter, Christen West; and a number of other relatives and friends.
