NATCHEZ — An Adams County man was charged Monday with aggravated assault for allegedly beating a 6-year-old child.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cal Green said Robert Wisner Bradley, 32, 813 Liberty Road, was arrested for reportedly beating the child with a belt buckle.

The initial report of the incident was made in May, Green said.

The aggravated assault charge was brought because of the extent of the child’s injuries, Green said. Green did not know the child’s specific injuries, but said visible impressions of the buckle were left on the child’s skin.

Bradley was being held without bond Monday afternoon.
