WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A celebration of life for Joshua Allen Herrington, 18, who died unexpectedly Friday, June 10, 2016, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Raleigh Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 6894 Litchford Road, Raleigh, N.C.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Raleigh Vineyard Christian Fellowship.
Joshua was born Oct. 4, 1997, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the second son of Michael Herrington and Cheryl Pennington Herrington.
Joshua attended Grace Christian School until entering a home-school program his junior year. At Grace Christian, he participated in the band for seven years, playing the flute. He was also very involved in the drama department, performing the lead role in plays such as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Godspell,” as well as a main role in “Anne of Green Gables.”
Joshua was a bright light in his family. He loved the mandolin and practiced daily, filling the home with music. He had a quick, sometime feisty wit. He loved to cook — slow-cooked ribs were one of his specialties. He also enjoyed camping and he avidly played “League of Legends” with his friends.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Herrington and cousin, Douglas Guedon.
Survivors include his parents; older brother, James Herrington; grandparents, Peggie Herrington of Church Hill and Jimmie and Ella Mae Pennington of Beckley, W.Va.; great-grandmother, Blanche Pennington of Beckley; aunts and uncles, Louis and Becky Guedon of Church Hill, Jasper and Denise Seale of Natchez, Mark and Cathy Mertz of Greenville, Wisc., and Jeff and Cindy Walker of Ghent, W.Va.; cousins, Emile, Matthew and Lee Guedon; Jessica Felter, Rebecca Seale, John and Lauren Mertz and Levi and Amelia Walker; and other close family members, Craig and Diane McNabb and Scott and Ashley Pruett of Atlanta.
