Weekend ticket: Music, art, sports fill Father’s Day weekend

NATCHEZ — Father’s Day weekend is expected to bring thunderstorms, but plenty of fun events for the Natchez area.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 90s today, Friday and Saturday and in the upper 80s on Sunday.
Chances of precipitation are 42 percent Friday, 69 percent Saturday and 40 percent Sunday.
Friday and Saturday may see afternoon thunderstorms.
Delta Music Tour
The Delta Music Tour will begin at 1 p.m. today at Frogmore Plantation.
The tour begins at the plantation with a vocal performance and historical narration about life on the plantation.
The singing and narrations continue through a tour of the site.
The event includes a guided tour of the State of Louisiana Delta Music Museum.
En route to the museum in Ferriday, groups will listen to specially recorded blues, ragtime and jazz with an explanation of the music by a guide.
Cost is $12 per person.
Man2Man Conference
A Christian conference for men will be offered at 7 p.m. today and Friday at New Hope the Vision Center, located at 418 Morgantown Road.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Donnie McClurkin, a top-selling, gospel music artist.
Admission is free.
ArtsNatchez silent auction
The ArtsNatchez Gallery will have its annual silent auction fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Saturday until June 25.
All home decor and decorative art will start with a bid of $10.
The gallery is located at 425 Main St.
Pre-Father’s Day celebration
The Annual Ware, Reason and Mason Families’ Father’s Day Celebration will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday on Brooks Road in Church Hill.
Participants can enjoy free food, drinks, a DJ, horses, four wheelers and more.
Visitors should bring chairs and dress comfortably.
Natchez Sports Legends and Lore
A panel of Natchez sports leaders, including former Natchez mayor Tony Byrne, will offer a presentation at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Historic Natchez Foundation.
The Historic Natchez Foundation is located at 108 S. Commerce St.
Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
Pioneer Skills Today
Historic Jefferson College will offer an adult class for adults on pioneer survival skills from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Cost is $20 and pre-registration is required to reserve a spot. The cost includes all materials and take-home projects.
