VIDALIA — Services for Helen Irene Johnston, 81, of Vidalia, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with the Rev. Ronnie Randall officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnston attended the First Lutheran Church in Natchez. She was employed for 13 years at the Ranch House Western Store and then several years at Just Boots in Vidalia. Helen and her husband, Jack, owned and operated Jack’s Bar-B-Que in Vidalia for many years. Through many years, they made many life-long friends. They were both active in Vidalia Horseman’s Club.

Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Maude Lewis and her husband Jack G. Johnston, Sr., and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla J. Meraz, and husband Gerry, of Tiki Island, Texas; son Jackie Johnston and wife, Darla, of Vidalia; two brothers, J.C. Lewis and wife, Quida, of Lepanto, Ark., and Bob Lewis of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Ann Gibson and husband, Hubert, of Jonesboro, La.; six grandchildren, Rhonda Long, Glenn Randall, Dennis Randall, Jaclyn LeBlanc, Nicholas Johnston, Madison Johnston; and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joe Dallalio, Derek LeBlanc, Nicholas Johnston, Dennis Randall, Danny Beard and Gerry Meraz.

Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Randall, Bill Torrey, Virgil Hoggatt, Dexter Hutchins and Jeff Knapp.
