WATERPROOF — Services for Emma Lee Brown, 90, of Kenner, La., formerly of Waterproof, who died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Chateau Living Center, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cypress Grove Baptist in Waterproof with the Rev. Gerald Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Brown was born April 14, 1926, in Waterproof, the daughter of Ed and Savanna Derris Carter.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Brown; one son, Thomas Carter; and her parents.

Survivors include one son, Willie Carter and wife, Joann, of Chicago; two daughters, Valerie Taylor of St. Rose, La., and Patricia Richard and husband, Willie, of North Las Vegas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a special niece and nephew, Anna Brown and David Williams, both of Waterproof.
