ST. JOSEPH — Services for Alberta Williams Strong, 80, of St. Joseph, who died Monday, July 11, 2016, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church in St. Joseph with the Rev. Anthony Watson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Panola Cemetery in St. Joseph under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Strong was born Dec. 1, 1935, in St. Joseph, the daughter of Ed and Beatrice Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Moses Strong; and two children, Gregory and Patricia Strong.
Survivors include four sons, Thomas Williams and wife, Arma, Alex Williams and wife, Armetta, Clay Foster and wife, Fannie, and Henry Williams, all of St. Joseph; six daughters, Renae Williams, Beatrice Williams and Ethel Strong, all of St. Joseph, Alberta Washington and husband, Elgin, of Baton Rouge, Yvonne Taylor and husband, Keith, of Slidell, La., and Ruthie Mae Brown and husband, Odell, of Monroe, La.; one sister, Alberta Ross Jones and husband, Scott, of Tallulah, La.; 18 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
