NATCHEZ — Services for Helen McDaniels Chatman, 85, who died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Adams County Nursing Facility, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Chatman was born April 7, 1931, the daughter of Samuel and Idenna McDaniels.
She was a longtime resident of Adams County.
Mrs. Chatman is the last sibling of the McDaniels family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Chatman Sr.; her parents; and 12 siblings.
Survivors include six children, Albert Chatman and Leroy Chatman, both of Natchez, Jacqueline Hoover of Covina, Calif., Sandra Chatman of Pasadena, Calif., Clinton Chatman of Mesquite, Texas and Dorothy Chatman of Dallas; two granddaughters, Donya Lashelle Lewis-Flanganan and husband, Courtney, of Cedar Hill, Texas, and DeShonda Fairley and husband, Terrell, of Jackson; one grandson, Brian Keith Chatman of Cedar Hill; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Mills of Texas, Nigel and Nicholas Chatman-Fairley of Jackson, London Chatman of Garland, Texas and Aubrey Whitman of Dallas; a special niece, Corrine McDaniel and husband, Sam, of Roxie; nephew, Otis McDaniel of Natchez; and a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
