SICILY ISLAND — Services for Leon Warden Jr., 88, of Clayton, who died Monday, July 18, 2016, in Sicily Island, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sicily Island First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Gass officiating.

Burial will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Leland, La., under the direction Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Warden was a member of Sicily Island First Baptist Church and was retired from the Catahoula Parish School System as a maintenance supervisor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Warden Sr. and Ruth Warden; his wife, Daisy Mae Bowen Warden; five brothers, Louia H. Warden, Lester A. Warden, Harold R. Warden, Baker H. Warden and Jacob Wesley Harden; and two sisters, Geneva Lewis and Bessie L. Smith.

Survivors include two daughters, Tommy Jean Batey and husband, Dallas Batey Jr., of Sicily Island and Leah Gorum of Alexandria, La.; five grandchildren, Brian Batey, Tracy Cole, Shannan Gorum, Emily Scotton and Heather Klock; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian Batey, Noah Ward, Nathan Batey, Thomas Klock, Jon Scotton and Ray Cole.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Sicily Island First Baptist Church, Buck Andrews and Connor Batey.
