DERIDDER, La. — The Purple Sox run in the state tournament has come to an end.

The Vidalia-based all-stars fell to Jefferson Parish 13-1 to finish third in the Dixie Youth Pre-Majors State Tournament.

Brock Farmer recorded two hits and drove in a run, but Jefferson Parish’s offense was too much for Vidalia to overcome.

Purple Sox 10, Oakdale 0

In earlier Tuesday action, the Purple Sox pounded out 11 hits en route to topping Oakdale 10-0 in the Dixie Youth Pre-Majors State Tournament.

Brock Farmer led the Purple Sox with two hits and three RBIs, while Christian Day and Christian Fort each had two hits and drove in a run.
