NATCHEZ — Services for Nellie Mae Jones-Dottery, 80, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 17, 2016, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at LaGrange Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Dottery was born May 7, 1936, in Natchez, the daughter of Willie Jones Jr. and Elnora Potter Jones.
She was a retired teacher, member of the NAACP, American Legion and the missionary society.
Mrs. Dottery was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph B. Dottery Sr.; one granddaughter, Valerie Minor Green; and one brother, Eddie Jones.
Survivors include five children, Dorothy Mae Larry-Stevens and husband, Cedric, and Ramona L. Dottery, all of Hayward, Calif., Kenneth L. Jones and William Tyrone Jones and wife, Mellisa, all of Pensacola, Fla., and Joseph B. Dottery Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Natchez; 10 grandchildren, Malasha Baldwin, Tema Larry, Kenneth A. Wright, Marissa Jones-Pinder, Wesley Jones, Alyssa Jones, Kierra Dottery, Clarence Dottery, Kendrick Ephriam and Isaac Ephriam; three great-grandchildren, Jakela Pinder, Aiyanna Simon Dottery and Clarence Joseph Dottery; and a number of other relatives and friends.
