NATCHEZ — Services for Velmon Haynes, 66, of Natchez, who died Monday, July 25, 2016, at Adams County Nursing Home, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Birdon Mitchell Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Loamland Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Ms. Haynes was born May 24, 1950, in Waterproof, the daughter of Phillip and Luda Mae Williams Haynes.

She was a retired assembly line worker for an auto plant.

Ms. Haynes was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Luga Jaye Joseph III; one brother, Lee Andrew Turner; and one sister, Lillie Haynes Jenkins.

Survivors include one daughter, Gesilar Joseph of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Roosevelt Lee and wife, Deloris, Isaac Lee and wife, Delores, and Johnny L. Haynes, all of Houston, and Phillip Haynes III of Atlanta; two sisters, Janie Marie Haynes of Waterproof and Loran Haynes Scott of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
