ROXIE — Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Ruth Middleton-Hunt, 69, of Roxie, who died Monday, July 25, 2016, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. today at East Roxie Church of Christ with the Rev. Issac Tenner officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. today until time of services at the church.
Mrs. Hunt was born March 16, 1947 in Franklin County. She was a proud member of East Roxie Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Ree Hunt, A.J. Hunt and R.J. Middleton; her husband, R.L.; two brothers. Julius Lee Hunt and Leodis Middleton; and one sister, Ella M. Rogers.
Survivors include one daughter, Malinda D. Hunt, four grandchildren who she raised as her own, Porsha Shaw, Amiraka Shaw, Dalivan Hunt and Shadiamond Hunt, all of Roxie; one great-grandson, Keghan Wilson of Roxie; seven sisters, Rose Jenkins, Norma Hunt, Bonita Hunt, all of Roxie, Johnnie Hunt Gibbs of Bude, Laura Edney of McCall Creek, Sherry Smith of DeRidder, and Doretha Singleton of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
