NATCHEZ — The Tricentennial Wellness Medical Clinic will end its services one day earlier than planned because of a larger than expected turnout.
Delta Regional Authority officials said that an overwhelming response from the community has exhausted the resources and troop capacity of military personnel on the Natchez campuses of Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Alcorn State University.
The medical clinic had been scheduled to be open on Sunday. The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and Saturday. On Saturday, doors will be closed when clinic reaches capacity.
Services include basic medical and wellness exams, optical exams, single-vision eyeglasses as well as dental exams, extractions, cleaning and fillings offered at no cost.
No registration, identification, insurance or proof of income is required. Services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are not limited to Adams County residents.
The clinic is part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training Program.
