NATCHEZ — Services for James “Ducie” Gibson Sr., 88, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, in Natchez, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel at West Gate Funeral Home.  08:26 JamesGibson obitpic

Burial will follow at Zion Watch Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m.

Visitation will continue Saturday from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Gibson was born June 15, 1928, in Washington, the son of Rufus Gibson and Annie N. Robinson.

He attended the Washington school district. He was retired from A&B Motor Company and Webb Funeral Home.

Mr. Gibson served as a deacon at Zion Watch Baptist Church and was a member of Mount Bethany Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to football games with his sons, hunting, fishing and watching wrestling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lee Gibson; seven siblings, Pearline Robinson, Rufus Gibson, Eugene Ray, Charles Gibson, Josephine Green, Leroy Gibson and Mary G. Williams.

Survivors include three sons, James Gibson Jr. and wife, Linda, Sherman Gibson and Bobby Gibson; one daughter, Lillian Fort; two sisters, Rosie L. Gibson of Port Gibson and Dorothy Campbell of Manchester, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
