NATCHEZ — Services for James Charles White Jr., 89, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Crown Health and Rehab of Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1. 

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. White was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Natchez, the son of James Charles White Sr. and Myra Williams White.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy Conner, Malinda Knight and Myra Rose Bruce; and one brother, Julius Edwards.

Survivors include one son, Vernon White and his spouse of Detroit; one daughter, Lillian of New Orleans; one nephew, Harry J. White Sr. and wife, Cora, of Augusta, Ga.; one niece, Mary Bruce Smith and husband, Calvin, of Dallas; special cousin, Mildred Jefferson and her daughter, Arnell Jefferson, of Jonesville; special friends, Linda Griffin Montgomery and Traci Griffin of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
