As the MAIS football season settles into its third week, Trinity will pack its bags for a third time.
The Saints (1-1) head to to play Copiah Academy, its last game before it opens district play against Porter’s Chapel, also on the road.
“We’ve known for a long time, and we’ve been preparing for (road trips) mentally,” Trinity coach Graham Roberts said.
Trinity goes head-to-head with a Class AAAA opponent, the second game the on the Saint’s schedule against a higher classification.
“The big thing is staying positive,” Roberts said. “We believe to be a better team, you have to play a better team.”
After last week’s loss, Roberts said he saw a handful of seniors seize the moment to be vocal with their teammates.
Roberts said he learn more about the character of his players, when seniors like David Jackson help lead the team in practice and on the field week-to-week.
“Each one has decided to take a stand in their own way,” Roberts said. “They won’t accept (losses) as normal.”
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
