Three people arrested in Ferriday drug case

FERRIDAY — Three Ferriday residents were arrested Wednesday and three children have been placed with protective services after deputies received information illegal drugs were being consumed around children.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Vernon Stevens said a parole agent and deputies arrived at the 751 Doty Road residence, and after Kevin W. McAllister opened the door, deputies found Hailey D. Hewitt and Brandi N. Goolsby in the living room with two minor children. Drug paraphernalia was in plain site, Stevens said.Stevens said Hewitt and Goolsby had attempted to hide the drugs before admitting methamphetamine was present.

A search revealed two bags of methamphetamine and several dose units of different prescription drugs.

McAllister, 38, 751 Doty Road, Goolsby, 32, 751 Doty Road, and Hewitt, 20, 2826 Dunbarton Road, Ferriday, were all charged with three counts illegal use of controlled substances in presence of a person under 17, three counts improper supervision of a minor, two counts of possession of schedule II methamphetamine and two counts possession of schedule IV drugs with intent.

Hewitt and Goolsby were additionally charged with obstruction of justice. McAllister was additionally charged with a probation hold.

The three had bonds set Thursday by Judge Kathy Johnson at $77,000. McAllister cannot make bond until the probation hold is lifted.

Hewitt, Goolsby and McAllister were all in jail Thursday afternoon.
