ACCS earns first win of season against Bowling Green

Instead of airing it out, Adams County Christian School decided to go to lean on its rushing attack to wear down Bowling Green School’s defense Friday night.
Led by DyKevis Ford and Julian Wilson, ACCS tallied 344 total rushing yards and scored five of its six touchdowns on the ground in a 43-15 rout of the Buccaneers .
The win was ACCS’ first of the year.
Ford had nine carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns. His 70-yard scoring run put the Rebels on top early and his 4-yard TD run late in the first half gave them a 21-7 lead at halftime.
Wilson added 83 yards and one touchdown on five carries.
ACCS scored the first 22 points of the second half, including a Chris Smotherman sack in the end zone that resulted in a safety early in the fourth.
Davis Sharp threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to George Scott late in the third.
Defensively, Smotherman had six tackles and two sacks while Ford had one interception.
ACCS (1-2) plays at 7 p.m. next Friday at WCCA.
