WOODVILLE — Services for Alma Pauline Thoms Davis, 87, of Spillman, La., who died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Newman Funeral Home in Woodville.
Burial will follow under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Jackson, La., the daughter of Thelma Lee Woods Thoms Coghlan and Ivy Lee Thoms.
Alma cherished her family and made everyone she met her friend. A great sense of humor often slipped into her conversations, putting everyone at ease and teaching us to not let life drive you, but to steer your own life with logical reason and enjoy people.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Virgie Lee Davis, and her husband of four years, Joe Vernon Davis.
Survivors include daughters Janette Baker, Brenda Hammond and Lorraine Beaman; son Robert “Spud” Davis; daughter-in-law Katye Davis; sons-in-law Barry Baker, Jim Hammond and Allen Beaman; grandchildren Terri Baker, Ruth, Jimmy and Michael Hammond, Bobby, John, Paul and Sara Beaman; granddaughter-in-law Kayti Beaman; great-grandsons Emery and Davis Beaman; sister Hazel Wesberry; and sister-in-law Nell Davis Satcher, both of Woodville.
Pallbearers will be Barry Baker, Bobby Beaman, Jimmy Hammond, John Beaman, Michael Hammond and Paul Beaman.
Honorary pallbearers are Horace “Buck” Sanders Jr., Jim Hammond, Allen Beanman, Teri Baker, Ruth Hammond and Sara Beaman.
