Centreville set to host Ben’s Ford

Centreville Academy assistant coach Robbie Isonhood wants the Tigers to remain focused on their opponent and not the distractions that come with homecoming week.

That’s because Centreville takes on MAIS District 5-AAA opponent Ben’s Ford Christian School in the district opener for both the Eagles and the Tigers.

“We’ve got to be focused and on time and not let homecoming get in the way,” Isonhood said.

Isonhood said Ben’s Ford has a good quarterback and good running backs and they’re a big team, but thinks his squad is up to the challenge.

“Hopefully we can do what we do and stop their offense,” he said.

While Centreville’s offense has improved over the course of the year, Isonhood said he would like to see a more prolific passing game. He also said the defense needs to continue to be sound and not let Ben’s Ford running backs get to the perimeter.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Friday.
