Jefferson County set to travel to South Delta

Labor Day was no holiday for Jefferson County after its loss at Morton. The Tigers struggled to move the ball offensively for three quarters and the defense gave up over 40 points.
Jefferson County will again be on the road as the Tigers go to Rolling Fork to take on the South Delta Bulldogs.
Head coach James Herrington said he would like to see his offense convert on third down and cut down on penalties. He also said his defense needs to tackle better.
Herrington said South Delta is a scrappy ball club with several players that go both ways.
“They are committed to the running game, and their defense is blitz heavy,” Herrington said.
Herrington said the key will be trying to contain running back Arteise Myles and quarterback Mykel McGee.
“As long as my guys are focused during the week, pay attention to detail, the presence of the trip doesn’t really matter,” Herrington said.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Friday.
