NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Phyllis M. Thomas, 101, of Natchez, who died Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor and the Rev. Alfred Camp officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas was born July 22, 1915, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Philip Heath Marble and Marie Leahy Marble. She was a member of St. Mary Basilica. She was raised in the Port Arthur, Texas, before moving to Church Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Thomas and two sons, John Philip Schlimper and Paul E. Schlimper.
Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Katherine Schlimper of Elgin, Texas and Charlotte Schlimper of San Augustine, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alan Schlimper, Ron Schlimper, Philip Schlimper, Keith Schlimper, Frank Beall and Gary Loveless.
Honorary pallbearer will be Rev. Carl Smith.
