ACCS beat Silliman for first time in six years

The Adams County Christian School softball team was buzzing with excitement after topping MAIS power Silliman Institute 5-4 Monday on senior night.
“This win means a lot to us,” senior Bailey Boyd said. “We’ve never beat that team before.”
Head coach Tate Lipscomb said it was the Lady Rebels’ first win over Silliman in six years. The Rebels can clinch district with a win over Simpson Academy today.
ACCS was down 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning before a rally sparked three runs scored to give the Lady Rebels the lead.
Brianna Henson earned the win, despite being battered around by 10 Silliman hits. Over 7.0 innings pitched, Henson struck out four batters.
Boyd, Anna McDaniel and Allison Freeman were honored for their final home game. Boyd and McDaniel were both 1-for-4.
“I love helping out my team,” McDaniel said. “It was a good night for everybody.”
Marlee Magee, Lexie Emanuel and Shelby Mason each cashed in for two hits.
The Lady Rebels are set to travel to Simpson Academy for a varsity first pitch at 4:15 p.m.
