A pair of Bailey Boyd second-half scores pushed Adams County Christian School past Brookhaven 2-1 in a MAIS soccer district showdown Wednesday.
The two teams entered the second half scoreless before the senior striker took advantage of a pair of nifty passes from fellow senior Emily Williams to give her squad a 2-0 advantage.
“It was an awesome first half played by both squads,” ACCS coach Jim Bob Allgood said. “It was very good defense, trapping and passing skills on both sides.”
Lady Rebels (7-2, 4-1) goalkeeper Morgan Blanton recorded 12 saves.
ACCS will be back in action Saturday when it travels to Laurel Christian.
