FERRIDAY — Services for Hilton Lee Smith, 89, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Josh Morea officiating.
Burial will follow at New Era Baptist Church Cemetery in New Era, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith was born May 4, 1927, in Deville, La., the son of Ben and Laura Smith.
He was a farmer and a retired supervisor-forman for the Louisiana High Department and the Concordia Parish Policy Jury.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Verna Lea Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Frank R. Smith and wife, Sharon, of Ferriday and Michael Elliot-Smith and wife, Leslie, of Alexandria, La.; four grandchildren, Eric Smith, Nicole Harding, Lindsey Elliot-Smith and Megan Elliot-Smith; four great-grandchildren, Dalton Smith, Chelsea Smith, Grayson Harding and Gretchen Harding; one brother, Eugene Smith and wife, Betty; and one sister, Eloise Miller.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
